With the start of the new year we are able to look ahead to what video games we will finally be able to get our hands on.

Usually we have a pretty good idea of what games we are able to look forward to, but because of the pandemic, we don’t have many release dates that we can add to our calendar and tell our bosses that we can’t work on.

Here are some confirmed and hopeful games that we can look forward to playing in 2021.

Hitman 3

Ever since IO took control of the Hitman IP, they have been doing it their way and they have been killing it. The episodic structure that you may have enjoyed in Hitman 1 but disappeared in Hitman 2 will stay gone. So when the game releases on January 20 for PS4/PS5/PC/XONE/XSX/STADIA/NS, you will be able to play the whole campaign at your leisure.

The Medium

I usually wouldn’t include a game I don’t really know much about, but since this game is going to be available on GamePass on Day One, more people will be able to play the game and experience the psychological horror that this title will bring you. You play in third person as a medium who can travel into the spirit realm. Using your puzzle solving skills and psychic abilities, you will be able to get through this game on your PC and Xbox Series X/S starting on January 28.

Super Mario 3D World + Bowsers Fury

Now that most of the Wii U catalogue has been brought to the Nintendo Switch, we can celebrate that accomplishment by playing an incredible Mario adventure which includes a brand new expansion. Play as Mario in a cat suit along with your favorite Mario friends as you traverse the masterfully crafted levels in your quest to take down Bowser. Take down Bowser (again) but this time on your Nintendo Switch when Super Mario 3D World + Bowsers Fury releases on February 12.

Destruction AllStars

This is another game I wasn’t going to include but just like The Medium, it will be free to plenty of gamers. This game is a multiplayer game for you and your friends to play on your PlayStation 5. Use your vehicle and your characters abilities to take down the other players in the arena. The key point about this game is that it was originally coming with a $70 price tag, but the game was delayed, Sony heard some backlash and decided to make it free for PS Plus subscribers. Be ready to download Destruction AllStars on PS5 starting in February.

Monster Hunter Rise

For all those Monster Hunter fans who were waiting for either Monster Hunter World to come to the Switch or have been holding on to their 3DS to play another Monster Hunter adventure, you can officially retire that handheld system because the Nintendo Switch is getting an exclusive MH game. Pick up your switch and go take down some large monsters in a new mainline Monster Hunter game. If you are a HUGE MH fan, there will be three amiibo figures available to purchase that will unlock special armor within the game. Go out and slay some monsters when Monster Hunter Rise arrives on Nintendo Switch on March 26.

Deathloop

From the creators of the Dishonored franchise, Arkane Studios is taking you on a time loop adventure where you have to take down eight targets all before midnight. Here’s the twist. Each time the clock strikes midnight, you have to start all over again. The key to the game is to get farther and farther each time and know the most efficient way to take down all eight targets before the clock strikes midnight. Deathloop will be available on PS5 and PC starting on May 21. You will be able to play it on the Xbox Series X/S starting in 2022.

There are many more games coming out in 2021 but due to the crazy world we live in, we don’t have much information about releases and if those games end up getting delayed. So games like Halo Infinite, Gotham Knights, and the finished version of Cyberpunk 2077 are all up in the air at this point.
